Expellent vision– London Fog in West Virginia
Posted by Blake in One Lap For The Cure on May 8th, 2009
In France “fog” lights (yellow tinted driving headlights) are mandatory. In London there are times the fog will settle for days. It seems that One Lap of America was being treated to European weather this whole trip. From the non-stop UK like winter rains to this now “so thick you can cut it” fog I [...]

We were making great time and averaging about 77mph towards beaverrun. Due to the awesome gas mileage of the Hyrbid we had passed almost all of the One Lappers as they stopped to get fuel. In fact, we just received a text from Will and Steve as they had stopped off at Hardees for some [...]

Beaver Run is located just bit outside Pittsburgh, PA. It is situated on the top of hillside scenery in western PA and it a perfectly flowing track that when driven agressively can lead to huge time differences vs. just sitting back and rolling trough the track.
I visited Beave Run about 8 years ago and spent [...]

After a great morning session, we took to a dry track to lay down some quick times. The vehicle was running very well and I personally loved the track.
Our fastest lap of the day was 1:47 seconds with an overall time for three laps of 6:03. This was almost 10 seconds faster than the [...]

Since there is a lot going on and I am sure you’ve read the “behind the scenes” dialog about our trip to CMS, I figured we simply post the times up from the morning session quickly.

For the [...]
Carolina Motorsports Park - “you won’t catch them”
Posted by Blake in One Lap For The Cure on May 7th, 2009
This is my first visit to Carolina Motorsports Park,(CMP) located in central SC.
It is a very flowing track with lots of run off areas and upright pylons on the apex of the corners. Due to the technical nature of the track and the fact that the rain had just fallen I was excited to possibly [...]

It’s late and we are at the next hotel, but this great news needs to be posted! The One Lap of America opened a whole new competition this year- the MPG challenge. Designed to provide and element of competition where outright speed may not take the win (like the bracket drag) this gave a chance [...]

As we rolled into Daytona Speedway this morning you could tell it was going to be a fun day. The fact that this is the first time One Lap has visited this track in it’s history tells of the unobtainable mistique of this very special track. From gold foiled “day pass” access cards to beautiful [...]
